#October 1st: More Mobilisation As Activists Protest Peacefully Against Fuel Hike In Lagos

1 min read

Activists protesting peacefully against petrol price hike arrested were waylaid and arrested today on Lawason Road, Ojuelegba, Lagos.

The activism, which was well-received and supported by Nigerians, was illegally disrupted by the riotous security agency under the Buhari-led administration.

Activists, drawn from many Socialist organisations, human rights /pro-democracy groups in today’s JAF mobilisation and sensitization rally, were hauled into four Area C Police Command vans by fully armed terror policemen.

Some of the activists arrested include: Aremson, Chike, Soweto, Dagga Tolar, Ade Sahara, Mrs. Basirst Ogunlana, Mrs. Goke Akinrogunde, Sina Odugbemi, Pelad, and a host of other comrades.

Although released, we call on all discerning Nigerians, activists, pro-democracy lawyers/groups labour, and the international community to come out enmasse on October 1st in putting an end to the unjust actions melted out on us since time immemorial.

The protest is not a privilege but a fundamental human right. Say NO to Tyranny, Say NO to Market Forces & daily hike in petrol price & electricity tariff.

Solidarity for Ever!
