A magistrate court sitting in Abuja has granted six #EndSARS protesters arrested in front of the National Assembly complex, Abuja, bail five days after they were remanded in prison.

Magistrate Abdulrazak Eneye, while ruling on the bail application filed by the defense counsel, Tope Akinyode, on Wednesday, granted the defendants bail of N50,000 each and one surety in like sum.

The Surety must fulfill the basic requirement of being a citizen of Nigeria with a verifiable means of identification.

The court also held that the sureties must deposit the N50, 000 fine, copies of their means of identification, and show means of livelihood to the court.

Those arrested include: Oluwatosin Adeniyi, Paul Akinwumi, Davo Chomo Abdulsalam Zuberu, Kabiru Gasali and Yasiru Bashir

The court on the previous Friday denied the defendants bail on conditions of the inadequacy of the oral application and therefore remanded to a correctional facility till a written application of their bail was tendered.

However, the trail has been adjourned to January 25, 2021 for hearing.
