Again, Police Shoots Another Shiite Member In Abuja

Less than 24 hours after the killing of a member of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria ( IMN ) popularly known as ‘Shiites’ by the Nigerian police, another member of the group Hassan Mohammad has been shot during a peaceful protest in Abuja on Wednesday.

 The peaceful protest started at Banex plaza and was terminated at plaza junction when police arrived and fired at them inside their vehicles after they have rounded off the protest.

Mohammad was hailed from Pandogari village in Niger State was shot in the stomach two times and has been receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

The Secretary Academic Forum of the Movement, Abdullahi Musa who spoke to SaharaReporters said the police opened fire at them when they have concluded the protest and about to board vehicles to their various destinations.

He said ” We wanted to hold the protest around NITEL junction but we saw about 20 vehicles of policemen and soldiers and other security personnel ready to attack us. We now moved to banmex plaza and we started the protest there and we terminated it at bannex junction.

” Our members were about to enter their and leave to their various houses but the police arrived and fired at us and the bullets hit the man right inside the vehicle two times “
